Volunteer OpportunitiesInterpreters![]() Besma Coda, Volunteer Interpreter Casa Cornelia Law Center has an ever growing need for volunteers who are fluent in two or more languages. Asylum seekers come from many different countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe as well as Central and South America. Volunteer interpreters provide essential interpretation, translation, and research skills that enable quality representation of our clients. Volunteer interpreters are contacted as the demand or need arises. Sometimes weeks, even months, can pass without a call, then suddenly the need is present because there is a client who requires the interpreter's language. Casa Cornelia understands this, and encourages those with language skills in another language to "stay on the list"! Your willingness to be of service enables the attorneys to get the job done. Volunteering as an interpreter is a very rewarding experience because the interpreter often holds the key to an individual’s ability to present the best case. Clients often identify with the interpreter, who can be the touchstone between two worlds. All volunteer interpreters participate in an orientation, and are provided mentoring by Casa Cornelia staff. Persons interested in participating in Casa Cornelias Interpreter Program, please e-mail Liat Segal at . Languages needed:
